Glynllifon Park is a 700 acre country park that was once Lord Newborough's private garden. Today, the whole 700 acres are designated as a Grade 1 listed garden and an S.S.S.I. boasting Victorian follies, streams, fountains, wonderful tree trails, craft shops and a cafe. Nearby is historic Caernarfon, a popular tourist spot with its magnificent 13th Century castle and well preserved town walls. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and a golf course, and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of the Snowdonia National Park.
