Prestatyn 2 miles; Colwyn Bay 16 miles; Llandudno 20 miles.

The tiny village of Gwaenysgor sits on the side of a hill in the quiet North Wales countryside, within the Clwydian Hill Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is just a quarter of a mile to the top, from where a wonderful panoramic view over the countryside and coast can be enjoyed. The village itself has a very good pub and is ideally placed for joining the Offa's Dyke National Trail which lies within a few minutes walk. The sandy beaches at Prestatyn provide safe bathing, a variety of watersports and lovely walks, whilst four golf courses and a leisure centre are within easy reach. Along the coast are the fabulous Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay and the Victorian resort of Llandudno with its lovely promenade. Within easy reach are the scenic lakes of Brenig and Alwen, a variety of castles and gardens and the spectacular scenery of Snowdonia, the Lleyn Peninsula and the Isle of Anglesey.

An attractive, 18th century, stone built cottage, occupying a quiet position in the pretty village of Gwaenysgor, just two miles from Prestatyn. This restful and calm, semi-detached property is decorated and furnished in a traditional cottage style and features exposed stone walls and beams, a welcoming sitting room, two bedrooms and a tranquil garden, ideal for a relaxing evening drink. The hillside village of Gwaenysgor boasts spectacular rural and coastal views and an excellent pub, whilst pretty coastal walks can be enjoyed within easy walking distance. The popular seaside resort of Prestatyn, with its Blue Flag awarded beach is two miles away, offering superb fishing and watersports, while Colwyn Bay's fantastic Mountain Zoo, Llandudno's Victorian promenades and the breathtaking Snowdonian landscape are not to be missed. An ideal base for touring North Wales, any time of year.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double with beams & exposed stone wall, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin & WC. Fitted kitchen with breakfast table (seats 2). Sitting room with log effect electric fire. Conservatory with dining area.

Oil central heating throughout, electric fire in sitting room. Freestanding electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, 2 x colour TVs (1 with Freeview), video, DVD. All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot & highchair by prior arrangement. Off road parking for 1 car plus quiet on road parking in front of cottage for 2 cars. Lockable shed for bike storage. Enclosed, lawned garden with furniture & BBQ. Sorry no pets & no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 2 mins walk. Note: Property has quite steep internal stairs and as such may be unsuitable for the less mobile.

It is an excellent location in beautiful hillside surroundings. We particularly enjoyed the varied local walks from the village despite the variable March weather. The cottage was really delightful, in a quiet location yet with the village pub a few steps away across the road.

A fantastic little cottage which is central for sights to visit in North Wales. Lovely walks and also a haven for peace and quiet,When there you want for nothing as it is excellently equipped The Eagle and Child pub is only 30 seconds (don't let that put you off no noise can be heard when customers leave) they serve lovely meals.Will definatley be returning to this cottage.. Thanks to Sue and Rhodri for enabling us to have such a perfect few days.

A beautiful cottage. A stones throw away from the pub, which serves food, so if you do not want to cook anytime there are facilities close by.
